Mark Teixeira will be reporting to his first ever Spring Training as a member of the New York Yankees on Wednesday, February 18, 2009.
Teixeira was at Georgia Tech this week, where he attended college, pledging $500,000 towards an annual baseball scholarship.
He was drafted by the Texas Rangers 5th overall in the 2001 draft, and was a rookie with the Texas Rangers in 2003, the year AROD won the MVP and failed a steroid test (testosterone and Primobolan), was asked about AROD.
Below are some of his quotes:
"He has my 100 percent support"
"I'm just going to open up my arms, give him a big hug, tell him I love him and we're going to get through this."
"I've been around long enough to not really be shocked by anything"
"I've never touched steroids or any of those kinds of things it's something I feel very strongly about"
According to the report, Teixeira joked that his parents "would probably kill me before the media would if anything like that came out about me."
